Itinerary
DAY 1: Uros Floating Islands & Amantani Homestay
07:30 – 08:00 AM | Pick-up from your hotel in downtown Puno and transfer to the port.
We begin by sailing to the famous Uros floating islands, built entirely of totora reeds. Here, you’ll meet the Uros people and learn about their sustainable way of life, reed craftsmanship, and ancestral lifestyle.
Next, we travel by boat (approx. 2.5–3 hours) to Amantani Island, where local families welcome us into their homes for lunch and overnight stay. This is a unique opportunity to live like a local.
In the afternoon, we hike up to the ceremonial temples of Pachatata and Pachamama, two sacred sites offering panoramic views and a magical sunset over the lake.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner and, if you wish, take part in a lively cultural gathering with music and dance hosted by the community.
DAY 2: Taquile Island & Return to Puno
08:00 AM | After breakfast with your host family, we say goodbye and continue our journey to Taquile Island, known for its rich cultural heritage and handwoven textiles.
A moderate uphill walk (30–40 minutes) leads us to the main square, where we can explore the local market, observe traditional weaving techniques, and admire colorful garments made by the island’s men.
