Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival in Cusco – Airport Transfer and Afternoon City Tour

Upon arrival at Cusco airport, you will be transferred to your selected hotel to rest and acclimate to the high altitude. In the afternoon, enjoy an optional guided city tour exploring the rich history and culture of Cusco. Visit key sites including the colonial architecture, vibrant markets, and ancient Inca landmarks such as Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay.

Your day begins early at 6:40 a.m., when our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to embark on an unforgettable journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Your first stop is Chinchero, a traditional Andean village and former royal estate of Tupac Inca Yupanqui, the tenth emperor of the Inca Empire. Here, you’ll witness vibrant indigenous culture and explore the well-preserved colonial church built on Inca foundations. Chinchero is also famous for its skilled local artisans who demonstrate traditional weaving techniques, using natural dyes and alpaca wool—a perfect opportunity to learn about Andean textile traditions.

Next, you will travel approximately 30 minutes to the fascinating archaeological site of Moray. This ancient Inca agricultural laboratory features a series of concentric terraces arranged in circular depressions. These terraces create different microclimates at various levels, allowing the Incas to experiment with crop cultivation and agricultural techniques—one of the most innovative legacies of Inca civilization. Your guide will provide detailed insights into the significance and function of this remarkable site.

Following Moray, you will visit the Maras Salt Mines (Salineras de Maras), located just 15 minutes away. These salt mines have been in continuous use since pre-Inca times. Here, over 4,000 shallow salt pools fill with salty water from a natural spring. Local families harvest the salt by hand through traditional methods passed down for generations. The stunning landscape of white salt ponds against the surrounding hills is a photographer’s dream and offers a glimpse into sustainable Andean livelihoods.

After soaking in the history and culture, you will head to the town of Urubamba for a relaxing buffet lunch (not included), where you can sample local cuisine and recharge for the afternoon.

In the afternoon, your journey continues to Ollantaytambo, a well-preserved Inca fortress town. Here, you will explore the impressive archaeological complex, including the Temple of the Sun and massive terraces that showcase the architectural and engineering genius of the Incas. Ollantaytambo was a strategic military, agricultural, and religious center during the Inca Empire, and its cobblestone streets still retain their original Inca layout.

Finally, after your tour of Ollantaytambo, you will be transferred to the train station to board your scenic train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway town to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel to rest and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Begin your day early with a hearty breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes, the gateway town to Machu Picchu. Following your scheduled entry time, take the scenic 25-minute bus ride up to the iconic Machu Picchu archaeological site. Present your entrance tickets and embark on a 2 to 2.5-hour guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Explore the magnificent Inca ruins, including ancient temples, agricultural terraces, and breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Andes mountains. Your expert guide will provide fascinating historical and cultural insights, revealing the mysteries and significance of Machu Picchu.

After the tour, return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch at your leisure in one of the local restaurants.

In the afternoon, board the train from Aguas Calientes back to Ollantaytambo. From there, private transportation will take you back to Cusco. Relax on the scenic drive through the Sacred Valley while reflecting on your incredible Machu Picchu experience.

Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be transferred to your hotel or the central San Francisco Square, concluding this unforgettable day of your Peru adventure.

Your day begins early with a pick-up from your Cusco hotel at 4:30 AM. After approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, you’ll arrive in Cusipata, where you will enjoy a nourishing breakfast to prepare for the hike ahead.

Next, the group will travel to the trailhead located at 4,626 meters above sea level (msnm). The hike to the summit takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes, ascending to the breathtaking peak of Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain) at 5,036 meters above sea level. Spend around 30 minutes at the summit to admire the stunning multicolored mountain and capture unforgettable photos.

After the summit visit, you’ll hike back down to the parking area. If interested, you can explore the nearby Red Valley (Valle Rojo) with prior coordination with your guide.

Following the hike, the group will return to Cusipata for a well-deserved lunch before heading back to Cusco. You are expected to arrive in Cusco by approximately 5:30 PM, where you will be dropped off just two blocks from the Plaza de Armas, allowing you easy access to the city center.

On your final day, you will be transferred from your hotel in Cusco to the Cusco airport for your departure. Our reliable transport service ensures a timely and comfortable transfer, allowing you to conclude your unforgettable Peruvian adventure smoothly and stress-free.
