Itinerary
DAY 1: Cusco - Rainbow Mountain - Red Valley
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in central Cusco between 4:00 and 4:20 a.m., and drive 1 hour and 40 minutes to Cusipata, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast to fuel up for the day.
After breakfast, we continue for about 1 hour and 30 minutes to the small community of Laya, the starting point for our ATV adventure. Once there, you’ll get a 10-minute practice session to get comfortable with the vehicle before heading out.
Then, we begin our scenic 30-minute ATV ride through winding trails and dramatic landscapes until we reach the top of Red Valley. From here, we leave the ATVs and hike for about 30 minutes to the viewpoint of the world-famous Rainbow Mountain, located at an altitude of 5,036 meters (16,522 ft).
You’ll have around 20 minutes at the summit to take in the views, snap amazing photos, and soak in the majesty of the Andes. Afterward, we hike back to Red Valley, hop back on the ATVs, and return to the base in Laya.
Our transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusipata, where a delicious buffet lunch prepared with local ingredients awaits. After a relaxing meal, we return to Cusco, with arrival around 5:15 p.m., and drop you off near the Plaza de Armas.
