Itinerary
DAY 1: Welcome to Cusco – Day at Leisure
Early in the morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 a.m. and start our scenic drive toward the charming community of Cusipata, where we’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast together. Then, we’ll continue our journey to Pomacanchi Lake and Qeswachaca, about 2.5 hours away. Along the way, you’ll be amazed by the breathtaking views of the Andes, the beautiful terraced fields, and the peaceful rural villages.
When we arrive at Qeswachaca, you’ll discover the fascinating history of the Qeswachaca Bridge—an incredible example of Inca engineering that local families still rebuild every year using traditional techniques and natural fibers. You’ll have the chance to walk across this unique suspension bridge and witness firsthand the community effort that keeps this ancient tradition alive.
As part of the tour, we’ll visit nearby communities where you can see how traditional agriculture, weaving, and ancestral rituals are still very much alive. On our way back, we’ll make a special stop at the house of José Gabriel Condorcanqui, better known as Túpac Amaru II. He’s a legendary figure who led a powerful indigenous uprising against Spanish rule in the 18th century. Here, you’ll hear stories about his life and legacy, and gain a deeper understanding of Peru’s rich history and the strength of its Andean people.
After this inspiring visit, we’ll return to Cusipata to enjoy a fresh, homemade lunch prepared with local ingredients.
In the afternoon, we’ll head back to Cusco, arriving near the Plaza de Armas in the early evening, leaving you with unforgettable memories of this cultural and natural adventure.
