DAY 1: Arrival in Lima and Private Transfer to Your Hotel in Miraflores
Welcome to Peru! Upon your arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, a representative from Sungate Peru Travel will be waiting to welcome you and provide a comfortable private transfer to your hotel in the beautiful district of Miraflores.
This lively and upscale area of Lima is known for its ocean views, cultural attractions, and excellent cuisine—making it the ideal starting point for your Peruvian journey. Once checked in, you’ll have time to relax or explore the neighborhood at your own pace. Enjoy a walk along the scenic clifftop promenade, visit local shops and cafés, or unwind after your international flight.

DAY 2: Flight from Lima to Cusco | Welcome to Cusco | Optional Walking Tour
After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to Lima’s airport for your domestic flight to Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire. Upon arrival, a representative from Sungate Peru Travel will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel.
Cusco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its blend of colonial and Incan architecture, vibrant local culture, and breathtaking mountain scenery. In the afternoon, you have the option to join a walking tour through the city’s charming streets, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Plaza de Armas, Cusco Cathedral, and the Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun).

DAY 3: Explore the Sacred Valley – Pisac Market, Andean Village & Ollantaytambo
Pickup time is at 7:30 am from your hotel in Cusco. Today, you will immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of the Sacred Valley. Begin with a visit to a local Andean community near Pisac, where you can learn about traditional farming practices, handicrafts, and daily life.
Next, explore the vibrant Pisac Market, famous for its colorful textiles, handmade crafts, and authentic local products—an ideal place to experience Andean culture firsthand.

DAY 4: Travel to Aguas Calientes by Train and Optional Inca Trail Trek
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic train ride from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, the gateway town to Machu Picchu. Relax and take in breathtaking views of the Urubamba River and surrounding Andean landscapes along the way.
For the hikers who have pre-booked the 1-day Inca Trail option, this day offers an unforgettable adventure. You will disembark the train early at kilometer 104, where your experienced local guide will lead you on a scenic hike to the iconic Puerta del Sol (Sun Gate). This trek takes you through stunning cloud forests and ancient Inca paths, culminating in breathtaking views of Machu Picchu from above.

DAY 5: Explore Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary | Return Train to Cusco
Pickup time is around 6:00 am from your hotel in Aguas Calientes. From there, enjoy a 25-minute bus ride up to the entrance of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
Begin your day with a 2-hour guided tour of Machu Picchu, one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the fascinating history, architecture, and mysteries of the Lost City of the Incas as your expert guide leads you through this ancient wonder.
After your tour, enjoy some free time to explore Machu Picchu at your own pace, take photos, or hike to nearby viewpoints such as Huayna Picchu or the Inca Bridge (optional and subject to permits).
In the afternoon, board the return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, where you will be met and transferred back to your hotel in Cusco.

Or maybe today’s just a day to relax, soak in the atmosphere, and enjoy some downtime with friends at your hotel.
Whatever you choose, Day 6 in Cusco is all about doing what feels right for you—relax, explore, or adventure. It’s a win either way!
DAY 7: Flight from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado | Welcome to the Amazon Jungle | Sunset in Tambopata
Upon arrival at the airport or bus station, you’ll be transferred to our office for a final briefing before starting the adventure. We recommend repacking your luggage to bring only the essentials for the trip.
Next, we’ll travel by 4×4 truck for approximately 2 hours to reach the banks of the Tambopata River. (If you’re traveling by river, the journey may take more than 6 hours, for your information.) From the riverbank, we’ll board a boat to reach the lodge.
Once you arrive, you’ll be warmly welcomed with either breakfast or lunch, depending on your arrival time. In the afternoon, we’ll take an introductory walk through the tropical jungle. This is a great opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat — including amphibians, mammals, reptiles, and fascinating insects.
DAY 8: Sandoval Lake Adventure – Explore the Heart of the Amazon
Begin your day with a scenic 3 km trek through dense tropical jungle, leading you to the enchanting Sandoval Lake, famous for its rich biodiversity and piranha habitat.
Embark on a peaceful rowing boat excursion across Sandoval Lake, surrounded by pristine nature. Look out for a variety of bird species such as shanshos, cormorants, jacanas, and the impressive puma heron. You might also spot soaring buzzards, playful howler monkeys, brown capuchin monkeys, tamarins, and the elusive sloths.
With some luck, you may encounter a family of giant river otters, nearly two meters long and endangered. Watch their playful antics and graceful movements as they swim through the calm waters.
After your morning adventure, return to the lodge for a delicious traditional lunch, savoring the unique flavors of the Amazon.

DAY 9: Tambopata | Flight to Lima
After breakfast at the lodge, it’s time to say goodbye to the Amazon rainforest. You will be transferred by boat back to the Tambopata River, followed by a 4×4 ride to the Puerto Maldonado airport.
From there, board your flight back to Lima, where your Peruvian adventure concludes. Upon arrival in Lima, you may continue your journey or prepare for your departure home.
