Itinerary
DAY 1: Welcome to Cusco – Day at Leisure
We’ll start your adventure with a hotel pick-up around 8:40 AM, heading northwest of Cusco toward the heart of the Sacred Valley.
Our first stop is the charming town of Chinchero, known for its vibrant artisan market and rich cultural heritage. Here, you’ll also visit the Palace of the Nine Inca Kings, a site filled with history and impressive Inca architecture. We’ll spend about 25 to 40 minutes exploring this area and soaking in its atmosphere.
Next, we’ll drive to Maras, a peaceful Andean village surrounded by stunning landscapes. This town lends its name to one of the most unique sites in the region — the Maras Salt Mines. From a scenic viewpoint, you’ll get to admire the thousands of dazzling salt pools carved into the mountainside. We’ll spend about an hour here learning how these salt pans have been used since Inca times and how they continue to support local families today.
Afterward, we continue on to Moray, a short 15 to 20-minute drive from Maras. Located at an altitude of 3,500 meters, Moray is home to a remarkable set of circular agricultural terraces that resemble a giant amphitheater. Here, the Incas created microclimates to experiment with crop growth — a testament to their agricultural genius. We’ll spend around 45 minutes to 1 hour exploring the site. If you’d like, you can even descend into the lower rings — just let your guide know in advance.
Finally, we’ll make our way back to Cusco. Around 2:30 PM, our transport will drop you off near the Plaza de Armas, right in the historic center, to end your day of discovery.
