Itinerary
DAY 1: Cusco - Pisac - Ollantaytambo - Chinchero
On this unforgettable day, we will pick you up from your hotel between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m., with the tour beginning promptly at 8:00 a.m. The Sacred Valley of the Incas was of great importance during Inca times, especially for its agricultural production—most notably the cultivation of giant corn kernels, a tradition that continues in the region to this day.
Our first stop will be the Taray viewpoint, where you’ll take in breathtaking panoramic views of the Sacred Valley and the Vilcanota River, considered sacred by the Incas. From there, we’ll head to Pisac, where you’ll visit its vibrant artisan market and explore the Inca archaeological site perched high on the mountain. You’ll have approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to discover ancient agricultural terraces, ceremonial structures, and sweeping views.
We then continue to Urubamba, the heart of the valley, where you’ll enjoy a buffet lunch featuring regional specialties in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit Ollantaytambo, one of the last remaining living Inca towns. Known for its ceremonial fortress, cobblestone streets, and massive stone architecture, this site offers a unique window into the Inca civilization. You’ll have around 1 hour and 30 minutes to explore its temples, terraces, and historical pathways.
Our final stop will be Chinchero, a charming Andean village that has preserved its rich traditions in weaving and ceramics. There, we’ll visit its colonial church, built on Inca foundations and adorned with original 15th–17th century paintings. You’ll also learn about the ancestral textile techniques still practiced by local families today.
We’ll return to Cusco in the early evening, with drop-off located 2 or 3 blocks from the Plaza de Armas, around 7:00 p.m. This concludes a full day of immersive history, vibrant culture, and unforgettable Andean landscapes in the heart of Peru.
